Bordering the Kruger National Park is the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The two reserves have no fence between them, ensuring that the abundance of game roam free over a very large area. Part of this world renowned Game Reserve is Djuma Game Reserve. Djuma means ‘roar of the lion’ in Shangaan. The reserve consists of three lodges, Vuyatela, Bush Lodge and Galago Camp.
Vuyatela, meaning ‘come and visit again’, has eight luxury en-suite chalets with a private deck, pool and a separate sitting room. The chalets also have an outdoor shower to experience nature while taking a shower. Bush Lodge is a family oriented lodge and consists of eight luxurious thatched chalets all with en-suite rooms. The rooms are air-conditioned and also have fans and mosquito nets. Galago Camp is a self catering camp.
Vuyatela main lodge has a bar overlooking a watering hole, as well as a large deck offering guests a different game viewing experience, while relaxing. The lodge also has an indigenous aquarium and a suspended bird-watching tower for bird lovers. Bush Lodge has two viewing decks for game viewing, while relaxing in camp. Guests can also relax in the lodge’s pool which is set in a small grove of Tamboti trees, setting a cool atmosphere. Both lodges have a library and Vuyatela also has a gym and relaxation room. Dinner is either served in the dining room or the boma, in front of a log-fire.
