Bakubung Lodge, Pilanesberg - African Safari Packages

Bakubung, "meaning people of the Hippo" Bush Lodge, is found in the malaria-free Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The reserve is situated next to the famous Sun City Casino Resort. Pilanesberg is one of the largest Parks in South Africa and is set in a crater created by an extinct volcano. In the centre of the park is a large lake where one can enjoy the peace of the wilderness, while game come to the water to play and quench their thirst.

The Bakubung Bush Lodge is perfect for families, as they have babysitting facilities as well as a children’s adventure playground. Bakubung Lodge consists of 76 thatched roof studio rooms and 66 time-share chalets surrounding the entertainment area in a horse shoe shape. All rooms are en-suite and are equipped with satellite television and electric points.

Bakubung offers daily shuttle transfers between the Pilanesberg Safari area and Sun City Casino Resort for those who want to break away. Numerous activities are on offer at the lodge, with a volley ball court, table tennis, outdoor chess and other games to keep your children busy. Guests can cool off on warm summer days in the sparkling pool or get pampered in the Noko Kalahari Spa.

Exiting game drives are held daily, or enjoy a safari on foot. Visitors can keep an eye out for the Big Five which is lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Enjoy an extraordinary experience with a night drive, spotting the nocturnal animals as they go about their nightly lives. The day is ended with a traditional barbeque under the African sky.
