Arathusa Safari lodge is situated in the northern section of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. It is one of the only lodges in the Sabi Sand that offers budget comfortable, even luxurious accommodation on a budget. The Sabi Sand Reserve borders the Kruger National park and is famous for it’s abundance of wildlife. Arathusa has its own natural lake on the property which attracts large numbers of animals, especially in the dry season. The Arathusa Safari Lodge consists of ten individual luxury thatched roof chalets, each facing the beautiful lake. All rooms are en-suite with and indoor and outdoor shower as well as a separate bathtub. Nature has never been as close as taking a shower outside with only maybe a kudu walking by. When it is time to relax one can sit on his/her chalet’s own private veranda with fantastic views of the lake and bush. The chalets are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, electronic safes and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy their favourite book or chat with other guests in the main living area. Breakfast and lunch is served in the dinning room and a sumptuous dinner is served under the star studded African sky, in the boma. The meal is enjoyed in front of a crackling log fire, with the sounds of the bush echoing in the background. The lodge also provides an infinity pool where guests can cool off on those lazy summer afternoons. Plenty of time is spent observing the wild life at Arathusa Safari Lodge with two game drives being conducted each day, as well as an optional bush walk. Enjoy leopard viewing, as this shy animal is territorial, it makes it easy to track in the reserve. Large Buffalo herds, as well as plenty of elephants, lions, giraffe, zebra, warthog and various species of buck, can be seen on safari. It is not uncommon to see the big five all in one day, and there is no shortage of birdlife in the reserve. |
