Enjoy a Botswana Fly Inn Safari to Abu Camp which is set in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The Abu Camp offers three night/four day safaris which explore the area from the back of an African Elephant. The Okavango Delta is characterized by rivers, lagoons, channels and palm filled islands. As Elephants love to play in mud and water the delta offers perfect habitat for these giant creatures, especially in the winter months when the river is a bit drier and muddier. The name Abu has been inspired by the lead African Elephant who is also the star of many movies. Situated on a raised platform Abu Camp offers accommodation for ten people in six luxury tents. The canopy of an ancient forest provides shade for all the tents. All tents face the floodplain's offering spectacular views of the water and natural environment. A viewing deck is installed for each tent where guests can relax while looking over the lagoon. Under sycamore fig trees on a raised wooden deck, is a dinning and bar area. Guests are served the most delicious meals in a peaceful atmosphere, with only bird and animal life echoing in the background. Guests can unwind in their spare time with their favourite book or by passing time in the lounge and study area. The most memorable experience will be the time spent with the resident elephants. Large custom made saddles are fastened onto the backs of the elephants, that not only provides for a safe but also comfortable ride. The elephants can cope well in any kind of terrain and can also get really close to other game, as the animals are unaware of the human presence. Guests are educated about the elephants while having a traditional safari experience in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. |
