Phinda Forest Lodge is found in the Phinda Private Game Reserve which is located in the Maputoland Region of Northern KwaZulu Natal.  The reserve is adjacent to the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and is close to the beaches of the Indian Ocean.  Phinda Forest lodge is one of six lodges found in the Phinda Private Game Reserve and is set in the heart of a Dry Sand Forest surrounded by towering Fever Trees.  The Big Five roam Phinda with other notable species including the Suni and Red Duiker as well as the stately Nyala.

Phinda Forest Lodge has sixteen glass walled suites built on stilts, almost creating an appearance of suites floating above the forest floor. The suites afford guests spectacular views of the surrounding area.  In spite of the glass walls, the torchwood trees and fertile forest floor provides a lovely green wall, creating an absolute feeling of seclusion. All suites are air conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms.  The suites walk out onto their own private viewing decks, with a personal bar installed on the deck.  Guests can relax on the decks, watching over the Sand Forest and its tall trees.

Open vehicle Game Drives are conducted each day at Phinda in search of the prolific game life, in the seven distinct habitats the area offers.  Alternatively guests can go on a riverboat cruise or go canoeing on the Mzinene River.  Relax in the public sitting and dining area or join other guests at the bar, after cooling of in the rim flow swimming pool.  Dinner is served under the stars in front of a blazing campfire.  Zulu artefacts are showcased in the crafts gallery, and guests can buy souvenirs to remind them of their fascinating Phinda vacation.
