Royal Livingstone

Situated at the majestic Victoria Falls is the Royal Livingstone. The name was derived from Dr. David Livingstone, the well known explorer, who also started a trading post in this area. The local name Victoria Falls means ' the smoke that thunders' perfectly explaining the powerful falls creating a cloud of mist with the roaring of the falls in the background. The Royal Livingstone is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, with spectacular views of the beautiful surroundings.

Extended along the river bank, 173 spacious rooms with private verandahs are the accommodation for the Royal Livingstone guests. Bathrooms are laid out by spacious showers and Victorian baths, complimenting the luxury of the bedroom, furnished with crisp white linen and large comfortable beds. There are three suites available that offer a separate lounge and a bedroom. The Presidential Suite has an optional extra bedroom, and there are two bedrooms that offer facilities for people with disabilities. Cots may be provided for the little ones upon request. The Royal Livingstone Hotel can accommodate the whole family, and is popular especially for this reason.

Dining at the Royal Livingstone is almost like going back in time, when you experience the old world style combined with good food. Delicious breakfasts and a la carte dinners are served in the a la carte restaurant, with a great variation of food on the menu. Lunches are kept light, and are served “alfresco” on the veranda, with light refreshments serve throughout the day as well as the traditional High tea. For something stronger, guests will enjoy the River Terrace Bar at the Pool area, or for something more sophisticated, The Travelers’ bar and lounge has a stylishly relaxed atmosphere, where guests may enjoy a cigar and some fine port and other delectable drinks.
