Montusi

Surrounded by beauty and tranquillity, Montusi Mountain Lodge is situated in one of South Africa's most spectacular settings, the Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal. In the Mountain guests will experience peace and quiet and it is also ideal for a romantic getaway. The main aim behind Montusi, is to preserve the Northern Drakensberg, and a wasteland was turned into a flourishing forest, filled with wild birds and other animals.

Guests at Montusi Mountain Lodge have a choice of fourteen luxury and spacious garden suites, or fully equipped, privately owned, self-catering cottages. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom and is separated from the others with endless views of the majestic Drakensberg, visible from all fourteen suites. All suites have their own private lounge with a gas fireplace and a private patio, where guests can unwind and relax. As an alternative, bring the family and stay in one of the self-catering cottages.

Guests can get together in the thatched roof communal lounge of the Mountain Lodge or enjoy a game of pool in the 'Emeneli' bar, while sipping a cocktail or drink. On warm summer days, guests can cool of in the clear, blue waters of the swimming pool. Other activities on offer are hiking, mountain bike trails, horse riding, golfing or fly fishing.  Bird lovers are being spoilt by a variety of bird species, calling the Drakensberg their home. The connoisseur will enjoy the delicious homemade bread and chocolates that are available each day.  For youngsters, there are an adventure centre a 10-minute drive away from the lodge.  The more relaxed traveler can laze around enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the mountain, or relax and unwind while taking pleasure in a massage treatment in our massage room.
