Moholoholo Forest Lodge

Close to the prestigious Kruger National Park, on the slopes of the majestic Drankensberg Mountains, is the Moholoholo Forest Lodge. The area is categorized by rain forests and Acacia Woodlands that provide absolute beauty and peace. The Big Five, various antelope species, giraffe, zebra and various bird species are prominent in the area. Experience Africa’s beauty and tranquility at the Moholoholo Forest Lodge.

Up to twenty guests can stay in Moholoholo Forest Lodge in ten secluded log cabins. Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom and balcony where guests can relax and experience the peace of the forest. The cabins are built from reeds and have thatched roofs to ensure a feeling of true serenity combined with an African atmosphere. Because the atmosphere created at Moholoholo Forest Lodge is one of being close to nature, it was decided not to include televisions and telephones in the rooms.  By implementing this, one can truly get away from life in the vast lane, while still not losing out on any of the luxuries or amenities of modern life.

The Moholoholo Forest Lodge has a thatched dining room where scrumptious meals are served, or enjoy a delicious meal around a log fire in the reed enclosure. Tea and coffee with snacks are available 24 hours a day. Visit the Moholoholo Ya Mati Teagarden, to sample some delectable goodies. Overlooking a waterhole and the forest, the Moholoholo Forest Lodge has a verandah where guests can sit quietly waiting for animals to come and quench their thirst.  Listen to the songs of a wide variety of bird life, while viewing birds and other animals from the hide at the main waterhole. Go on a walking trail to view animals from nearby. 

For the more adventurous visitor, the Lodge offers game drives with a spotlight at night, for the viewing of nocturnal animals.  Guests can also visit the rehabilitation center that contributes to the conservation of endangered species. Other activities on offer are river rafting and boat cruises on the Blyderiver dam. Because the Lodge is so close to the Kruger National Park, guests can easily go for a game drive in the Park during daytime, and return to the Lodge in the evening.
