Marlin Lodge

Overlooking the serene Flamingo Bay on Benguerua Island in Mozambique is a luxury lodge called the Marlin Lodge. With sandy white beaches and crystal clear water, the Marlin Lodge has the feel of a tropical island lodge. The Bazaruto Archipelago was formed years ago by the Limpopo River, depositing a mass of sand. It now consists of a perfect sea shore, sand dunes and Acacia Woodlands.

The Marlin Lodge has fourteen luxury beach chalets with the shore at the front door and fantastic ocean views. Each chalet has a lounge, private verandah with deck chairs and a private walkway, leading to the beach. The verandah is perfect for relaxed breakfasts and romantic dinners, with the view to match the atmosphere. Three luxury beach suites with that extra personal touch are also available at Marlin Lodge. The suites have similar amenities to the chalets, but include an outside shower, to add to the feeling of being close to nature. Relax lazily in a hammock with a good book while sipping a cocktail. 

Enjoy a culinary delight from the kitchens of the Marlin Lodge in either the dining room, under the starlit sky, on the beach or on your chalet’s own private verandah. An abundance of seafood, prepared the local way, combined with Asian and Portuguese influences, are provided daily by Marlin Lodge's chefs. Everything is locally produced and supplied to ensure absolute freshness. The chefs love sharing their culinary secrets and even offer lessons on Tuesdays and Fridays. This way you get to take the flavors of holiday to your own kitchen at your own home.

The Lodge provides guests with therapeutic treatments in the Beauty and Wellness Centre. Alternatively relax on the beach or take up diving or snorkelling. Take an island tour in a land cruiser and climb up the Benguerua Dunes for a breathtaking view of the island below. Grab a lovely packed picnic basket and stroll to any location on the island for a romantic lunch, or go horse riding for fun. At least 78 bird species have been identified from the coastal dunes to the Acasia Woodlands, with even a few unusual species reported, making this a birder paradise.  This magnificent paradise leaves guests wanting to come back again and again.
