Lion Sands River Lodge

Situated in the most Southern section of the Sabie Sand Game Reserve is Lion Sands River Lodge. The Southern section is known for spectacular game sightings. The Lion Sands River Lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River, bringing thirsty animals and bird life much closer to the guest.

Lion Sands River Lodge offers 18 luxury thatched rooms each with its own en-suite bathroom.  Each room has its own private indoor and outdoor shower, giving the guest the opportunity to shower in nature. The rooms are decorated in cream and beige, complementing the bushveld colors. When relaxing in camp, the rooms offer guests their own viewing deck from which to observe the animal and bird life. All 18 suites are connected by wooden walkways raised from the ground. The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and overhead fans.

The Lion Sands River Lodge offers numerous facilities for relaxation. Guests can enjoy a delicious cocktail in the private lounge or bar area or enjoy the fresh air in the outdoor safari lounge.  During the summer months the two pools available for cooling off in, are filled up with cold water, however, during the winter months they are heated.  View some game from the wooden decks or visit the secluded bird hide. On the magnificent River Island deck that was built on the river, guests see animals from much closer. Book a massage at the Lalamuka Health Spa or work up a sweat in the gym.  In the curio shop guests can buy a memorable for their loved ones at home.  Dinner is served in the inside or outside Boma beside a log fire. The Lodge also offers amazing game drives and walks that include either breakfast or dinner, depending on the time of day. Full moon walks, tours on the river and lectures are also part of educating guests about African wildlife in interesting ways.
