Arathusa Safari Lodge, Sabi Sand, South Africa

Arathusa Safari lodge is situated in the Northern section of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The Reserve borders the unfenced Kruger National Park and is famous for it’s abundance of wild life roaming the reserve. Amongst the wildlife can be found, 14 leopards, buffalo, elephants, lions, zebra, warthog, various buck etc. Arathusa has its own natural lake, which is an attraction for animals wanting to quench their thirst. It is not uncommon for visitors to see the big five in one day. For the advent bird watcher, there is no shortage of rare birds, visible from the camp itself, for instance the Horus Swift. The Arathusa Safari Lodge consists of ten individual luxury thatched roof chalets each facing the beautiful lake. All rooms are en-suite with indoor and outdoor showers as well as a separate bathtub. Nature has never been closer than taking a shower outside with possibly a kudu walking by. Relaxation time can be spent on your chalet’s own private verandah overlooking fantastic views of the lake and bush. The chalets are equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets, electronic safes and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy their favorite book or chat with other guests in the main living area. Arathusa Safari Lodge offers breakfast and lunch in the dining room. A sumptuous dinner can be enjoyed under the starry skies in the boma. The meal is enjoyed in front of a crackling log fire and with the bush sounds echoing in the background. The Arathusa Safari Lodge also provides an infinity pool where guests can cool off from the afternoon heat while the bush life come alive, right in front of their eyes. Much time can be spent observing the wild life, with two game drives being conducted each day as well as an optional bush walk. Guests will enjoy sundowners while the sun sets in the distance and the beautiful colors appear in the sky on the afternoon game drive.
