Addo Main Camp, Addo National Park

Addo Main Camp is located in the Eastern Cape Region of South Africa. This camp is situated deep within the bushveld of the Sundays River Valley, in the Addo Elephant National Park. It is a malaria free environment and is known for its high density of elephants, about 450 of these giants. This Park is also home to the "Big 7" namely Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Whale and the Great White Shark. You can also view various antelope species, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the distinctive flightless dung beetle, which is found almost solely in the Park.

The Addo Main Camp offers a variety of accommodation types, ranging from guesthouses to chalets. Every accommodation type has its own bathroom, except for the caravan and camping sites as well as the safari tents, that shares communal ablution blocks. The units in the Guesthouses and chalets of the Addo Main Camp are either equipped with double sleeper couches to accommodate a whole family in one unit, or single couches for two persons to sleep over, in other units.

The rondavels at the Addo Main Camp overlook a floodlit waterhole and you can either relax on the verandah while watching the animals come to quench their thirst, or make use of the lookout platform or underground hide where you can get an even closer look on the animals at the waterhole. Overnight visitors may make use of the swimming pool, or can buy some souvenirs and snacks at the shop. The a-la-carte restaurant in Addo Main Camp where delicious local cuisine is being prepared is worth a call but bookings are advisable.

Guided Game drives as well as sunset and night drives, horse trails and 4x4 trails are just some of the activities on offer.
