African Sky Safaris and Tours was established in 1998 as a closed corporation in the Republic of South Africa ( Cc No 98/24392/23) and has successfully acted as a South African Tour Operator since then. . Our office is based in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa, from where we co-ordinate safaris and tours which are conducted by us in all corners of Southern Africa. Our tour and safari guides are based in various areas of Southern Africa from Cape Town in South Africa to Livingston in Zambia.
We strive to bring you a unique and memorable Southern African experience through our expertise and our commitment to ensuring each of our clients depart from Southern Africa with memories of a wonderful experience in one of the world’s most remarkable areas. We are members of the Southern African Tourism Services Association (membership number 1145) , and subscribe to their code of conduct. Our management team currently consists of four members. Each member of our management team has years of experience in the Southern African Tourism Industry.

Riaan Viljoen ( General Manager)
A graduate of the University of Pretoria’s school for economic and business sciences has nine years of experience in the Southern African tourism industry and has spent two years in Europe and the United States. Here he acquired an understanding of the perceptions and expectations of foreign visitors to South Africa. He founded African Sky Safaris and Tours in 1998 and has since established the company as a provider of quality tourism services in South and Southern Africa. |

Carel Loubser ( Marketing Manager)
Graduated from the University of Pretoria with a bachelors degree in tourism management and has been involved with all aspects surrounding the management of the company for the past six years. He has recently assumed the position as marketing manager and is very capable of advising clients and agents about all aspects surrounding travel in the countries of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Mozambique. |

Bill Gibbons ( United States Representative) Bill Gibbons is a retired US Air Force Officer and Airline Captain, who after traveling with African Sky as a client decided to take a more active role in African Tours and Safaris. He has been traveling for more than 50 years and possesses an extensive knowledge of all aspects pertaining to his hobby and passion.
Bill is more of a friend than an agent and can be contacted for detailed information about our operation. He is able to offer advice when planning your holiday in South Africa

Hennie has spent much of his life in the African wilderness and has a great understanding of the fauna and flora of our sub continent. Andrew Harvey (Tour Guide)
Andrew gave up a lucrative career in banking to pursue his passion as a tour guide in South and Southern Africa. He has for several years been leading tours in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. A specialist in wildlife photography and an expert on the plant and animal life of the region. Andrew has also been actively involved in guiding in the Cape and Garden route area and has an exceptional knowledge of the history or South Africa and the cultures of her children.

Fran Fagyas (Tour Guide)
Fran has been involved with guiding in South Africa since 1997 and has on numerous occasions been involved as an assessor on the panel of Satour (the government body who used to accredit new guides) when evaluating new guides to asses whether they are qualified to be registered.
She has an intimate knowledge of all aspects surrounding South and Southern Africa from the history of the region to unique insight into the different areas of the sub continent and its wildlife. Her knowledge has proven and still proves to be invaluable when compiling itineraries and ensuring all our guides have the knowledge and experience levels required to enrich the traveling experience of our clients. |

A native Capetonian, George is an expert on the Western Cape, her history and attractions. He has been actively involved in the South African Tourism industry for more than seven years.

Mary Anne has eight years of experience in the Southern African Tourism industry. She has a three year national diploma in travel and tourism and was involved with the training of students in the subject of nature guiding for more than a year.
She has been working as a full time tour guide since 2004 and has in this time led tours and safaris in the counties of South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia as well as Zambia. |
